Our client is a thriving CPG firm looking to add an
Accounting Manager to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $135k+
Position Overview: As the Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. You will oversee a team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with other departments to support the overall business objectives.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager: - Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Manage the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures. Ensure compliance with ASC guidance, particularly ASC 606, 340-40, and 985-20.
- Audit and Internal Controls: Lead and coordinate external audits, ensuring all requirements are met. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Oversee the implementation and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures.
- Financial Analysis and Quality of Earnings: Conduct thorough financial analysis to support business decisions. Lead quality of earnings assessments, providing insights on financial performance. Ensure accurate revenue recognition and expense matching per ASC guidelines.
- Restatement of Financials: Manage any restatements of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Coordinate with external auditors and legal advisors as necessary.
- Strategic Financial Planning: Support strategic financial planning and analysis activities. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Team Leadership and Development: Managing outsourced accounting teams and also in-housing accounting teams. Supervise and mentor accounting team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Qualifications for the Accounting Manager: - CPA is preferred.
- Technical Accounting Knowledge (ASC 606, 340, 985, 350, 842, 718).
- Startup experience within a SaaS/hardware company is a major plus.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position.
Education Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Certified Public Accountant is a major plus!
