General Overview
Zerorez of Atlanta’s Fleet Department is seeking a highly skilled and ASE-certified mechanic with expertise in diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance. This role requires advanced mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform complex troubleshooting on both light- and heavy-duty fleet vehicles. You will be responsible for preventative maintenance schedules, drivability diagnostics, powertrain repairs, and electrical system troubleshooting, all while ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
This is a hands-on, high-impact position where precision, efficiency, and technical expertise are critical to minimizing vehicle downtime and ensuring optimal fleet performance.
Main Job Task and Responsibilities
● Repair vehicles and CDS Units
● Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and CDS Units
● Update and complete all assigned work orders
● Proper documentation of parts and service tasks completed
● Gathering necessary parts and equipment to complete service
● Maintain cleanliness work areas
● Sweeping of floors and keep equipment clean
● Organizing parts inventory and equipment
● Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics or team members as needed.
Qualifications
· ASE Certification (required) in areas such as Brakes (A5), Electrical Systems (A6), Engine Performance (A8), or Medium/Heavy Truck (T Series).
· High school diploma or vocational training in automotive technology, diesel mechanics, or related field.
· Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in fleet maintenance, automotive repair, or a similar role.
· Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools, digital scanners, and computerized maintenance systems.
· Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, emissions standards, and fleet safety compliance.
· Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL license is a plus.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early morning, evening, or rotating shifts.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
