Job Summary:
Orthopaedic Associates, a leading healthcare provider in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing and Coding Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding and billing, excellent management skills, and a commitment to ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the billing and coding department, including managing a team of billing and coding specialists and medical records.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of claims for services rendered
- Review and correct any coding errors to maximize reimbursement
- Monitor and track reimbursement trends and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation for coding and billing purposes
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and guidelines
- Train and educate staff on coding and billing guidelines and procedures
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve any billing and reimbursement issues
- Stay updated on coding and billing changes and provide insightful recommendations for process improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role
- In-depth knowledge of coding systems and guidelines (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS)
- Familiarity with insurance billing and reimbursement processes
- Advanced computer skills and experience with electronic health records and billing systems
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
