90 day contract-to-hire position. Full-time, in office. Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Starting pay is $17 to $18 an hour, eligible for increase after 90 days of employment.
Certified Medical Assistant Job Description/Summary:
- Responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks.
- Set-up EKG machines, administer injections and medications, and perform routine specimen collection and tests.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
- Support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program REQUIRED
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
- Must be able to pass background check and drug test
