Job Title: Surgical Technologist (CVOR)

Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Cincinnati, OH 45219

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract Length: 13 Weeks with possible ext.

Shift: 3x12s (Monday-Wednesday, 6:15 AM - 6:45 PM); one first call per week (end of shift to 11:00 PM); weekend call every 5-6 weekends, week of overnight call after weekend call

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist to join our team for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of CVOR experience and be proficient in handling surgical instruments, assisting in procedures, and ensuring the operating room is fully prepared for surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review daily assignments and surgical preference lists
• Ensure all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are ready and functional
• Assist with surgical procedures under the supervision of the surgeon, including suctioning, holding retractors, skin closure, and irrigation
• Circulate for operative procedures under RN supervision
• Provide post-operative care, including site care and drainage tube connection
• Maintain a clean and sterile environment throughout the surgical process
• Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and hospital staff
• Respond quickly and calmly to stressful patient situations and ensure patient safety

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist Education Program OR 3+ years of Surgical Technologist experience within the past 5 years
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Competency in surgical procedures and equipment handling
• Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment and maintain confidentiality

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
