Responsibilities:
* Work closely other chemists and technicians on the team in support of key customer projects and the operations team in the plant.
* Interface with process development chemists and technicians on a regular basis to advance product development
* Assisting with lab work in support of trouble shooting production issues
* Filing and updating of formulas in the Oracle ERP system under the direction of senior team members
* Technical/ Customer Support
* Conducting lab experiments to resolve customer questions/concerns
* Evaluating test pieces from line application trials
* Providing both applied and wet samples to customers, both internal and external
* Preparation and submission of samples for long-term weathering testing
* Product Development
* Replacement of obsoleted raw material in existing products
* Formula modifications for cost optimization
* Formula modification based on application changes
Requirements:
* BS Degree in a technical/engineering field such as Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering
* 0-3 years related experience
* Laboratory experience (Industrial lab experience preferred)
* Knowledgeable of chemistry and scientific test methods.
* Prior knowledge of coatings chemistry or formulation and coatings application is desired. Coil-applied coatings knowledge is preferred.
