About the Company
Overview:
An established and growing General Contractor based in Gurnee, IL is seeking a Project Manager to lead ground-up and large-scale renovation projects across commercial sectors. This person will play a critical role in managing multiple concurrent projects from pre-construction through closeout , with an emphasis on quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of the construction lifecycle, including estimating support , budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Lead project teams including Superintendents, APMs, and subcontractors , ensuring strong collaboration and accountability.
- Maintain direct communication with owners, architects, engineers, and internal leadership throughout project execution.
- Manage documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and monthly cost reporting.
- Conduct regular site visits, enforce safety protocols, and resolve field issues proactively.
- Manage multiple active projects with varying timelines and scopes, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor , ideally in commercial ground-up or major renovations.
- Strong background in managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Solid understanding of construction means and methods, cost controls, and scheduling techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Must be commutable to Gurnee, IL and able to visit job sites across the region.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hospitality, senior living, healthcare, retail, or public works projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- OSHA 30 or similar safety training.
