Job Description

Direct Counsel is looking for an for a long term contract attorney with German language skills . This position can sit in any of the following offices, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, D.C. Miami, Chicago, Silicon Valley, Tampa or Houston . Candidates must be barred in one of the states the above city is located. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general litigation. This position is for 6 month or longer.

Responsibilities:

• Draft pleadings, discovery, memoranda, motions and other legal documents
• Handle litigation matters from inception through trial, including taking depositions, attending mediations and settlement negotiations
• Make independent decisions and advising clients on pre-litigation and litigation matters
• Work with experts
• Legal research
• Working with German counterparts
• Other projects, as assigned

Qualifications:

• Motivated with the desire to achieve top level results
• The ability to work well with a team as well as work well independently

Required Experience for the position:

• Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of solid experience in litigation in State courts
