Correctional Nurses provide professional nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada Department of Corrections has a vacancy for a Correctional Nurse 2 at Lovelock Correctional Center, in Lovelock, Nevada. This position requires a high level of independence, candidate must also be reliable, have excellent communication skills and able to apply critical thinking, assessment, intervention, and evaluation skills. Must be able to make quick but accurate medical decisions. RN must be able to work under pressure, be able to adjust to change and to work with others as part of a healthcare team. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is located at Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada. Incumbents must be willing to work in this rural area, located 90 miles north of Reno, Nevada.
