Facilitate discussions to identify key entities, attributes, and relationships relevant to business operations, leveraging the SME's expertise.

Logical Data Model : Define data elements, attributes, keys, relationships, and constraints, ensuring normalization and standardization for consistency and efficiency.
Physical Data Model : Convert the logical model into a database schema (tables, columns, indexes, partitions) and refine it based on input from database engineers to align with actual system design.
Collaborate with the SME, data engineers, and DBAs to deploy models in the target data platform (SQL, NoSQL, Data Lake, Cloud, etc.), providing ongoing inputs and clarifications as needed.
Continuously update and refine the model based on technical feedback and evolving business requirements.
Follow best practices in data modeling and design to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Conduct informal testing to verify the accuracy and integrity of the data model before formal deployment.

Assess externally supplied data models upon request, ensuring alignment with business needs, and architectural guidelines.
Provide recommendations to improve efficiency, and scalability.
Collaborate with manufacturing SMEs, engineers, and business users to refine the model.

Maintain comprehensive documentation, including ER diagrams, data entity and field descriptions, data dictionaries, metadata catalogs, and data lineage information.
Play a key role in enhancing and maintaining the standard design principles document, ensuring future data models align with best practices and organizational needs.
