Job Description
We are looking for a friendly, organized, and efficient Dental Receptionist to join our team and provide exceptional service to our patients across 5+ practices in Brooklyn and Queens. As a key member of our orthodontic office, you will play an essential role in ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and excels in creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients.
Salary: $30,000-300,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments for consultations, treatment, and follow-up care using orthodontic scheduling software (e.g., Dentrix Ascend, Open Dental).
- Manage patient check-in and check-out, ensuring all required documentation is completed and accurately filed.
- Verify insurance information, and assist with patient billing inquiries and processing payments.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries, providing clear information regarding treatment options, office policies, and appointment availability.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the dental management system, ensuring all information is up-to-date and confidential.
- Coordinate with orthodontic team members, including providers, dental assistants, and treatment coordinators, to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal care.
- Communicate with patients to confirm appointments, provide pre- and post-treatment instructions, and address any concerns.
- Assist with patient education regarding orthodontic procedures, including braces, clear aligners, and retainers.
- Handle insurance claims and processing, ensuring accuracy in billing and providing necessary documentation for claims follow-up.
- Maintain office cleanliness and organization, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for all patients.
- Stay up to date on office software, scheduling protocols, and orthodontic office policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar role
- Proficiency in dental office software (e.g., Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).
- Insurance verification experience and knowledge of insurance claims processing.
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-focused attitude.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage a busy office environment.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team setting while managing patient interactions independently.
