Position: Design Drafter *Please note this is not an engineering position*
Victory Awning, a leading provider of custom canopies and outdoor shade solutions, is seeking a skilled Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for our awning and canopy installations. Main Job Tasks / Responsibilities:
· Create Detailed Technical Drawings: Use CAD software to develop precise and accurate technical drawings for custom awning designs based on project specifications.
· Collaborate with Project Teams : Work closely with project managers, designers, and the production team to ensure that designs align with client requirements, safety standards, and building codes.
· Modify & Update Drawings: Review and update existing designs to accommodate any design changes, client requests, or site-specific factors. Ensure all revisions are documented and communicated effectively.
· Prepare Material Lists: Generate material lists and specifications based on design drawings to support the production and installation teams.
· Client Support & Visualization: Provide design assistance to the sales team by preparing drawings and visualizations for client proposals and presentations.
Ensure Accuracy & Timeliness: Ensure that all drawings are completed in a timely manner and meet the company’s quality standards
· Graphics: Develop, print, and apply graphics as part of project installation, ensuring quality and consistency.
· Assist Sewing Department: Support the sewing department by cutting awning patterns, cabana covers, and shade sails using the Patternsmith CNC machine.
Education:
· An Associates degree or certification in Drafting in a related field is preferred.
· Equivalent work experience in a related role may also be considered.
Experience:
· Experience with CAD software is required.
· Experience with awnings, canopies, shade structures, or custom installations is a plus but not required.
