Job Title: Dietary Aide

Reports To: Dietary Manager

Department: Food and Nutrition Services  

DUTIES:

1. Assist with the meal preparation using recipes and portion control.
2. Assist with preparation of snacks.
3. Assist with delivery of the meal and snacks at specified times.
4. Assist with cleaning and sanitation following infection and sanitation guidelines.
5. Review tray and tray card for accuracy based on physician prescribed diet, patient preferences and production spreadsheet.
6. Maintain food and beverages within safe temperatures throughout preparation and serving.
7. Communicate effectively and respectfully with peers, staff and patients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; similar work environment preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak, read and write the English language.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide simple numbers.

REASONING SKILLS: Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple tasks and create solutions as changes arise.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Food Handlers and/or ServSafe preferred but not required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to walk or stand for long periods of time as well frequently lift, reach, pull/push objects weighing up to 10 pounds (rarely up to 50 pounds), crouch or stoop.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, hot and extreme cold temperatures. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
