As Director of HIM, you won’t just oversee records—you’ll ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of health information across all sites. Your leadership will support compliance, improve care delivery, and drive informed decision-making at every level of the organization.
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Lead and mentor a skilled HIM team, including coders and record technicians, across multiple locations.
Collaborate with executive leadership, IT, clinicians, and finance to enhance documentation practices and reporting.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, CHIQ, and other regulatory standards.
Oversee EHR system performance and help implement cutting-edge technology upgrades.
Improve coding accuracy and reimbursement through training, audits, and workflow enhancements.
Provide critical insights through reporting and data analysis that inform operational and clinical strategies.
✅ What They’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
5+ years of experience in HIM within a hospital or health system
2+ years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing HIM operations
Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical coding practices
Hands-on experience with EHR systems and healthcare compliance standards
Analytical, tech-savvy, and an excellent communicator across departments
