Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled EDA/CAD Engineer to join the Optical Modules Group (OMG) , focusing on SiGe and CMOS research & development .
This role is based onsite at client's Sunnyvale, CA office , with a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office + meetings as needed).
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, customize, and support external vendor PDKs (SiGe & CMOS)
- Support custom IC and RF CAD environments for high-speed mixed-signal IC design (10–40 Gb/s)
- Lead development of design standards, CAD tools, and IC development processes
- Execute and support layout , archive , and tapeout processes
- Collaborate closely with internal design teams and support users on EPDA/CAD issues
Must-Have Skills & Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of high-speed analog & mixed-signal IC design concepts
- Expert with Cadence Virtuoso , ADE , and SKILL programming
- Experience with Mentor Calibre (user support & rule deck writing)
- Deep understanding of analog/mixed-signal layout concepts
- Proficient with FlexLM license management and UNIX/Linux environments
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with Perforce , Ocean scripting , advanced modeling/simulation
- Linux OS support or administration knowledge
Education & Experience:
- BS with 5+ years experience
- MS with 4+ years experience
- PhD with 3+ years experience
Additional Notes:
- Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced R&D environment
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and cross-team communication required
- This is a high-visibility role with a strong mix of hands-on engineering and CAD toolflow development
