Job title: Developer/Infrastrucutre Engineer/Database Engineer
Work Model: in office, Manhattan based
Comp: 150k base, up to 100% bonus (up to 300k max total)
Summary: A successful 2BN alternative asset manager is looking for an infrastructure engineer to join their team and focus on the build out of their proprietary database/system.They are in the process of building out their infrastructure and are looking for a strong engineer skilled with Python to be apart of this.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in software development, with a focus on internal infrastructure and portal development.
- Experience in financial services industry.
- Strong with JavaScript, Python, or Java.
- Experience with web development frameworks and technologies.
- Familiarity with database management systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment strategies.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tool
Responsibilities:
- System Design and Development:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze user and business requirements.
- Design and implement algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs, processes, and systems.
- Produce efficient and elegant code based on requirements.
- Develop, test, and maintain internal web applications using technologies.
- Portal Management:
- Design and manage internal databases.
- Implement and manage containerized applications.
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, ensuring scalability and security.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain existing software to improve performance.
- Compile and assess user feedback to enhance software functionality.
- Ensure the security and integrity of financial data within the portals.
- Manage the vendor relationships for software and platforms.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Manage the development projects with the support of the assigned team and manager.
- Work closely with product architects, designers, and other developers to analyze project requirements and define project scope, goals, and timelines.
- Prepare and submit reports on the status of proposal components.
- Conduct ongoing market research to stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
