Job Description
Kelly is currently seeking a Junior R&D TS&D Technician for a long-term opportunity in Midland, Michigan ! The Junior R&D TS&D Technician will primarily focus on maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps within a laboratory environment.
Primary responsibilities:
- Set up, operate and maintain laboratory instruments, monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and record results, and often develop conclusions.
- Preventative maintenance activities and repair of vacuum pumps, booster pumps, and other mechanical systems in an R&D lab environment.
- Mechanical skills such as small engine repair or experience with vacuum pumps would be highly applicable.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Familiarity with basic scientific principles and ideally has had some laboratory experience.
- Ability to follow written directions and maintain a laboratory notebook.
- Good communication skills and is computer literate.
- A degree, GMP, GLP, FDA, RCRA, and OSHA knowledge may be required.
- Experience with mechanical systems such as small engine repair, pump repair, etc.
- Ability to maintain logs and records of repair and preventative maintenance activities
- Organizational skills to maintain an inventory of rebuilt vacuum pumps to be deployed as needed
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to ask questions if unsure about safety considerations.
- Attention to safety and following procedures is also required.
