Position Overview:

Crane Service Company is a family-owned regional crane company that has been in business since 1926. We are looking for a qualified, detail-oriented and proactive Lift Planner/Lift Plan Technician to support our Rigging Team with lift plan preparation, proposal development, and ensuring site access and permit compliance. This is a critical role that requires technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Main Responsibilities:

Create drawings for bidding process, lift plan use.

Create Lift Plans based on Project Manager direction.

Distribute Lift Plans to appropriate parties.

Requirements:

• Must be detail oriented and safety focused.
• Heavy equipment use.
• Ability to proof own work.
• Strong understanding of cranes and rigging.
• Knowledge of 3D Lift Plan, LICCON.
• Develop, verify, and submit crane and rigging lift plans using 2D/3D/LICCON Lift.
• Planning software based on site investigations and Rigging Team inputs.
• Produce CAD drawings to support project proposals and bidding processes.
• Create and submit Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for all lift plans.
• Generate site plans showing crane positioning.
• Communicate directly with customers to gather and share project and lift plan information.
• Distribute finalized lift plans and related documents to internal teams and external partners.

Education & Experience:

• Experience with cranes or heavy equipment.
• Certification for 3D Lift Plan 1(user),2(pro), or 3(expert)
• Rigger I, II
• Safety experience, site management
• Microsoft Office
• Bluebeam
• Adobe
• Draftsight
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred; or a minimum of 3 years experience.
• Familiarity with crane and heavy equipment operations is preferred.
• Mastery of CAD and an aptitude for related planning and design software.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to talk, hear, sit, walk, and use hands for typing and phone communication.

Other Requirements:

• Proof of U.S. employment eligibility.
• Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
• Clear oral and written communication skills in English.
• High standard of personal integrity and confidentiality.
• Ability to handle stress and maintain a cooperative, respectful attitude with team members and customers.
