Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for defense technology and innovation? Join a team driving next-generation solutions that support national security and critical military operations.
We're looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of inertial navigation systems and mission computers for advanced aerospace applications. This is a high-impact role supporting a major national defense program through all phases of mechanical development.
🔧 What You’ll Do:
• Lead mechanical design efforts for rugged, mission-critical defense electronics
• Create innovative and producible designs using Siemens NX
• Perform GD&T analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and drawing creation
• Support root cause analysis and production issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, ops, quality, and supply chain
✅ What You Bring:
• STEM degree with 5+ years of mechanical design experience (or equivalent graduate-level experience)
• Proficiency in Siemens NX CAD and familiarity with Teamcenter PLM
• Strong GD&T and mechanical drawing skills (ASME Y14.5 standards)
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and presenting technical content
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher
✨ Preferred Skills:
• Experience with ASME/MIL standards
• Familiarity with stress principles and component sizing
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Ability to handle fast-paced, time-sensitive engineering tasks
