TITLE : Mechanical Design Engineer
Comp: Ranges from $70,000-$85,000/yr
Location: Rensselaer, IN
Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Mechanical Design Engineer direct hire position in Rensselaer, IN
Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of the product
- Utilize AutoCAD 2D/3D for design.
- Apply Microsoft Excel for design calculations, data management, and documentation.
- Oversee projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Design and optimize structural components (e.g., weight distribution, height considerations) and embedded systems.
- Collaborate with shop floor teams and management to ensure the successful execution of designs.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify accuracy and feasibility of designs during production.
- Work with a CAD library to modify and update existing design packages.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1+ year of experience in a similar engineering role
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D; additional experience with AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks is a plus.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative shop environment, ensuring designs are built accurately and efficiently.
