Central Montessori School, a well-established private Montessori school in Encinitas, is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Montessori Head Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We are a nurturing educational community dedicated to fostering a love of learning in children aged 18 months to 6 years.
As a Montessori Head Teacher, you will be part of a dynamic team of educators and play a vital role in shaping the early educational experience of our students. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated educator who shares our commitment to the Montessori philosophy and is attuned to the unique developmental needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a Montessori classroom, creating a prepared environment that supports independence, curiosity, and respect for each child’s learning process.
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans that align with the Montessori method.
- Observe and assess students’ progress and needs, fostering an environment that promotes holistic growth—cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the success of every child.
- Maintain positive communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s progress.
- Encourage self-discipline and responsibility in a supportive and positive environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Montessori Certification (AMS, AMI, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a lead teacher in a Montessori environment
- Strong understanding of the Montessori philosophy and teaching methods
- Ability to create and maintain a nurturing, organized, and inspiring classroom environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
