Responsibilities
The function of the Music Therapist position is to provide individual and group expressive/music therapy services to consumers at Valeo BHC. This is part-time, 16-hour week, Monday-Tuesday position with some flexibility in providing evening, weekend, or other weekday expressive therapy services and with room to grow into a full-time position as caseload grows.
The goals of the program are to provide solution-focused expressive therapy rehabilitation services to assist adults with severe mental illness in increasing community tenure and reaching toward recovery goals.
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor or Master degree in Music Therapy or closely related field. Board certification as a music therapist (MT-BC) or eligible to sit for the exam upon hire. Board-certification required within 6 months of hire. Individuals are allowed to apply who have completed coursework for their bachelor’s or master’s degree and are awaiting completion of internship for the degree to be finalized. A valid Kansas Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance is required, as the position requires providing transportation to clients. Must be able to perform day-to-day physical requirements of the position, including approximately 1 hours of data entry per shift, frequently moving around the building and community through each shift, ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed and utilize various art materials.
Salary Range
$51,688 – $58,801 – $69,659
