Job Description
Position: Payroll Manager
Salary: $80,000-90,000
Location: Edgewood, MD
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll administration for the company. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes and systems, as well as experience in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process
- Ensure accurate calculation and disbursement of wages, overtime, bonuses, and other earnings
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Administer 401k and other employee benefits programs
- Handle garnishments, deductions, and other payroll-related adjustments
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of payroll taxes and other payroll-related liabilities
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to ensure accurate employee data and seamless integration with general ledger
- Stay current on industry trends and regulations related to payroll and benefits administration
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in payroll administration
- Experience in the construction industry is required
- Experience with Vista Viewpoint is required
- Previous experience with Certified Payroll
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or other payroll certification is a plus
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred, but not required
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
