Job Description

Kavaliro's client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support their payroll operations for a 3-month contract to hire. This position requires in-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and non-profit payroll processing. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll execution while adhering to federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process payroll for the organization, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Oversee the use of computerized payroll systems to track hours, deductions, and taxes.
• Ensure accurate processing of payroll tax filings and compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
• Administer tax-sheltered annuities, Section 125 benefits, and other payroll-related benefits.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of payroll taxes, retirement contributions, and other withholdings.
• Provide support and guidance on payroll-related matters to staff and management.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree required.
• 2+ years of payroll experience
• Experience in non-profit payroll required; higher education payroll experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax codes, and reporting requirements.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to payroll taxes, annuities, and insurance practices.
• Familiarity with tax-sheltered annuities, Section 125 benefits, and other pre-tax benefits programs.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

• This position is fully on-site in Leesburg, FL.
