Job Description
LHH has partnered with a construction company in search for a detail-oriented payroll specialist to manage their weekly payroll cycles. If you have experience processing payroll within the construction industry and are bilingual – please apply right away!
Primary responsibilities include:
- Administer weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried staff
- Stay in compliance with labor standards and prevailing wage requirements
- Keep precise payroll documentation for construction contracts
- Apply deductions such as including taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Reconcile employee hours, leave balances, and timekeeping records
- Coordinate with project leads, contractors, and subcontractors to verify payroll data
- Submit certified payroll documentation on time
- Assist with audits and regulatory reviews
- Monitor changes in labor laws and provide training as needed
- Maintain well-organized payroll files and compliance records
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and certified payroll reporting, ideally within the construction sector
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Familiarity with CA labor compliance, including DIR, Davis-Bacon, PSA/PLA, Section 3, and union agreements
- Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop, LCPtracker, Procore, and similar systems
- Experienced in job costing, timecard management, and batch payroll uploads
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
