Portfolio Program Associate

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Portfolio Program Manager, the Portfolio Program Associate will collaborate closely with the investment team to engage with startups worldwide. This role involves deep exploration of emerging technologies, facilitating strategic partnerships, and supporting program management from initial engagement to successful execution. The goal is to identify, establish, and track mutual value creation between startups and corporate teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing win-win collaborations between startups and corporate teams, as well as key partners and potential customers.
• Engaging with portfolio companies to gain a deep understanding of their technologies, roadmaps, and strategic needs.
• Developing and documenting a strong understanding of corporate core competencies, business units, technology roadmaps, partnership requirements, and key pain points to explore synergistic opportunities.
• Supporting the Portfolio Program Manager in developing compelling presentations for internal investment committees on potential synergies.
• Proactively managing strategic partnerships between portfolio companies and corporate teams, ensuring project progress, timely documentation, and follow-ups.
• Continuously identifying business development opportunities and technology integration possibilities, keeping projects on track.
• Providing timely updates on portfolio company briefings.
• Capturing key learnings to refine program management processes and share best practices.
• Assisting the Portfolio Program Manager with additional initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should have a strong curiosity, a collaborative mindset, the ability to prioritize tasks, excellent time management, and a results-oriented approach. Additional qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience in a technical field and/or technical program management; experience in investment portfolio programs is a plus.
• A Ph.D. in a technical discipline such as Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science, with a strong academic and professional track record.
• Demonstrated experience in program management and delivering deep technology solutions.
• Proven ability to foster collaborations between internal and external stakeholders, with a track record of achieving results through teamwork.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to document insights that drive actionable outcomes.
• Ability to simplify complex technical information and communicate it effectively through writing and presentations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Self-starter mindset with a strong work ethic, accountability, teamwork mentality, and personal integrity.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global team environment.
