Product Engineer –Plastic Molding
We are seeking a Product Engineer to develop Design for Manufacturing solutions that meet customer specifications. This role focuses on designing cost-efficient, high-quality products and tooling for rotational molding applications. Our client is a leading manufacturer of advanced materials and precision-engineered components for the aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and energy markets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product & Tooling Design: Develop molds and related tooling for rotational molding manufacturing, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and cost-effectiveness.
• Project Management: Oversee projects from inception through product launch, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
• Production Support: Resolve engineering and tooling issues in production molding and assembly processes.
• Cost Estimation & Feasibility Analysis: Develop labor and material cost estimates, projected completion dates, and feasibility assessments for tooling activities and engineering design.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with Production Operations, Quality Control, Purchasing, Sales, and customers to ensure seamless project execution.
• Regulated Industry Compliance: Work within regulated industries, ensuring designs meet industry-specific standards.
• Customer Engagement: Assist sales and customers in product quoting and feasibility assessments.
• Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all documentation related to projects is accurate, complete, and aligned with company standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and mechanical/tooling design principles.
• Some knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, including rotational molding, injection molding, and machining.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience working in regulated industries is a plus.
