Job Description
Position: High School Spanish Teacher
Rate: Up to $47/hour
Work Setup: Hybrid - only required to come to school 30 days per school year
Must have a valid PA teaching certification in Spanish
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Advanced degree preferred
- At least two years of urban teaching experience preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in subject area; Spanish
- Able to obtain all required clearance
Responsibilities
- Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students
- Implement a coherent, research-based curriculum
- Document all lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials and methods
- Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students in the classroom
- Virtual classroom management by creating, monitoring, and sustaining a disciplined school culture of high academic and behavioral standards
- Provide virtual structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations
- Ensure smooth operation of all virtual classroom instructional functions without excuses or exceptions
Skills
- Develop and use a variety of assessment data to refine curricula and instructional practice
- Evaluate academic achievement through detailed data analysis of student performance
- Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Develop and maintain a positive, strong virtual classroom culture
All applicants must have current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal, Child Abuse background checks, and the appropriate instructional certification.
