Responsibilities
Mounting signs:
- Securely attaching signs to designated surfaces on buildings, poles, or other structures using appropriate hardware and techniques
Surface preparation:
- Cleaning, leveling, and preparing installation surfaces on walls, poles, or ground to ensure proper sign placement
Reading blueprints and schematics:
- Interpreting installation plans and diagrams to accurately position and align signs
Operating hand tools:
- Utilizing tools like drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, levels, and measuring tapes to assemble and install signs
Using power tools:
- Employing power tools like saws, grinders, and cutting torches depending on the sign material and installation requirements
Ladder work:
- Safely climbing ladders to reach high installation points and secure signs at elevated heights
Sign removal and replacement:
- Dismantling old signs and properly disposing of them while installing new ones
Basic maintenance and repairs:
- Performing minor repairs on existing signage, including tightening loose screws, replacing damaged components, and addressing minor cosmetic issues
Compliance with safety regulations:
- Adhering to all safety guidelines related to working at heights, handling power tools, and proper lifting techniques
Qualifications
- Physical fitness: Ability to lift heavy signs, work on ladders for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Hand-eye coordination: Precisely measuring and aligning signs during installation.
- Basic mechanical skills: Understanding how to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring signs are installed straight, level, and securely fastened.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions: Adapting to different weather elements depending on the project location
