Job Description

Role: IS Trainer

Rate: $120,000 - $130,000

Location: New York, NY

Model: Hybrid – onsite Tuesday-Thursday (occasional onsite may be required on other days based on training schedules)

Duration: Direct Hire/Full-time

Summary:

The IS Trainer will be responsible for providing exceptional training and support to end-users in the assigned office(s). This individual will respond to requests, analyze training needs, develop relevant programs, and deliver high-quality training to attorneys and staff.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Technology Change Management & Training and collaborates with various teams to ensure smooth software rollouts and user adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and deliver new hire training for attorneys and staff in assigned offices.
  • Collaborate with Global Services personnel to facilitate seamless software rollouts.
  • Participate in firm-wide projects, including regression testing, business needs analysis, software prototyping, and gathering user feedback.
  • Design, organize, and deliver training programs for all levels of users.
  • Develop and update training materials, such as QuickCards, bulletins, and handouts.
  • Maintain a working relationship with Directors of Administration to identify office-specific training needs.
  • Administer certification training programs in alignment with HR requirements.
  • Provide “Just-in-Time” training and respond to urgent user needs.
  • Promote training program opportunities and maintain an updated training calendar.
  • Prepare and set up physical or virtual classrooms for training sessions.
  • Coordinate with the Support Center and Support Services to troubleshoot and escalate technical issues.
  • Collaborate with local IS technical teams on various projects.
  • Assist Directors of Administration with evaluating technical skills of potential hires during the interview process.
  • Support outside consultants with the preparation and administration of training programs.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable delivering training in one-on-one and group settings, with the ability to translate technical concepts into understandable terms.
  • Ability to work with diverse audiences, ranging from beginner users to advanced power users.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
  • Adherence to firm-wide and departmental policies, operational guidelines, and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (travel is expected to be less than 20%).

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred; technical school training with equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of verified experience delivering technical training in a legal or corporate environment.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably eFront.
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with Apple iOS/macOS devices and legal applications such as:

  • Litera Compare
  • Litera Forte
  • InterAction
  • Foundation
  • Experience with eLearning production software such as Camtasia or Captivate is a plus.
