What You’ll Do:
As a Solar Field Technician , you will play a key role in the operation and maintenance of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar power systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in compliance with established safety protocols and industry standards across Illinois.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical components using digital multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other diagnostic tools.
- Conducting daily mechanical and electrical inspections to ensure proper system functionality.
- Performing progress, mechanical, and preventative maintenance inspections with detailed reporting.
- Carrying out routine preventive maintenance on solar panels, battery storage systems, and related equipment.
- Conducting infrared thermography inspections using handheld and drone-based (sUAS) technology (training provided if needed).
- Keeping accurate records of all operations and maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory tracking.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation such as work orders, service reports, time logs, and emergency response schedules.
