Job Responsibilities:

We are a closed-door pharmacy, primarily serving our outpatient mental health clinic. A successful team member will work well with others while also able to work independently, is able to multi-task and work well with disruptions, and has a great sense of humor. Pharmacy Technician license is preferred, but not required.

Position Summary: Filling prescriptions and compliance packaging. Performing other duties necessary to maintain pharmacy services. Delivers medications to off-site locations as needed throughout the week.

Essential Functions:

1. Fills prescriptions and compliance packaging (bubble packs).

2. Assists WCS staff and consumers presenting to the pharmacy.

3. Able to deliver medications to other locations as necessary.

4. Checks e-mails regularly.

5. Receives incoming phone calls.

6. Responsible for return to stock medications.

7. Checks for expired medications on a routine basis.

8. Completes all other daily and weekly tasks necessary to maintain the pharmacy.

9. Assists the Medication Coordinating Pharmacy Technician with their tasks as needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with other technician’s duties when able or necessary.

Job Qualifications:

Minimal Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma or a GED. Prior experience as a pharmacy technician required. Pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) preferred.

Performance Expectations: Must be able to multi-task and work well in a sometimes busy and demanding environment. Must provide excellent customer service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Should be familiar with Medicaid/Medicare and compliance with those programs. Needs to learn and understand how to use the pharmacy software, Speed Script. Needs to learn and understand the policies and procedures of the pharmacy. Should also be able to learn new policies and procedures when implemented and adjust well to change. Needs to display strong troubleshooting abilities.

Work Relationship and Scope: Must have a strong sense of working as a team, primarily with pharmacy staff, but with all other WCS staff as well.

Working Conditions Work daily in the confines of the pharmacy. Be able to effectively interact with all WCS staff with the shared goal of treating consumers in a sometimes-difficult period of symptomatic expression of their diagnosis.

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand on feet for the majority of the day and work in front of a computer for certain daily tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
