Position: Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
Rate: $55/hour
Requirements:
- Valid PA Teaching Certification - Hearing Impaired (required)
- Fluency in American Sign Language (preferred)
- Current FBI fingerprints, PA Criminal, and Child Abuse background checks
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct service to eligible students to support educational attainment and successful communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Writing IEPs and communication plans
- Collaborating with educational audiologists and school staff regarding amplification in the daily routine
- Coordinating with the school, other service providers, families, and school district personnel to meet the needs of each individual learner, providing the best care, safety, welfare, and security of students
