Job Title : Terraform Developer
Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Terraform Developer to design, build, and maintain our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions. In this role, you will leverage deep knowledge of HashiCorp Configuration Language (HCL) and Terraform best practices to provision, manage, and scale infrastructure across various cloud platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about infrastructure automation, code quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Terraform Scripting
- Write, maintain, and optimize Terraform configurations using HCL.
- Create reusable and modular Terraform modules to streamline infrastructure deployments.
- Ensure consistent and repeatable infrastructure provisioning across multiple environments.
Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate architecture requirements into Terraform-based infrastructure.
- Develop infrastructure solutions that are secure, cost-effective, and scalable.
- Integrate Terraform workflows with CI/CD pipelines to enable automated deployments.
Monitoring & Maintenance
- Implement and maintain state management for Terraform to keep infrastructure consistent and prevent configuration drift.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
- Regularly review and audit Terraform code for opportunities to improve performance, security, and reliability.
Documentation & Training
- Produce clear, concise documentation for all Terraform configurations and modules.
- Educate team members on best practices for writing and maintaining Terraform code.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing on IaC, Terraform, and HCL updates.
Best Practices & Governance
- Enforce compliance and governance standards through policy-as-code mechanisms (e.g., Sentinel, OPA).
- Stay current on Terraform and HCL features, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency and maintainability.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code principles within the organization.
Qualifications & Skills
Terraform Expertise :
- Proven track record writing and managing Terraform scripts in production environments.
- Deep understanding of Terraform core concepts, HCL syntax, modules, and state management.
Cloud Experience :
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience in designing and deploying scalable cloud architectures.
DevOps & CI/CD :
- Familiarity with DevOps principles, including version control (Git), continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Experience integrating Terraform with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Scripting & Programming :
- Basic to intermediate scripting or programming skills in Python, Bash, or similar.
- Ability to automate repetitive tasks and handle complex infrastructure logic.
Soft Skills :
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Education & Certifications (Nice to Have):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Terraform certification(s) or relevant cloud certifications.
