SUMMARY: Tutor university students in undergraduate writing projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Communicate effectively with all levels of undergraduate students
- Quickly comprehend instructions given for written assignments
- Quickly and accurately assess different types of student writing for structure, organization, logical arguments, style, grammar, and mechanics
- Make appropriate improvement suggestions and explanations to students for individual writing assignments
- Demonstrate self-discipline and initiative with little direct supervision
- Be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
- Must have completed EN103
- High ACT score in English
- Demonstrated English language writing ability
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of English grammar
- ESL/EFL experience preferred but not required
